LOCAL ACTIVITIES

Western Montana is a paradise for the outdoor enthusiast. Activities are available in all 4 seasons and includes something for everyone. Right outside the cabin door you can enjoy hiking, biking, hunting, fishing, 4x4-ing, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, and ATV riding. With a short car ride; boating, downhill skiing, rafting, golf, kayaking/canoeing, and horseback riding are readily available.

Don't forget that Trout Creek is close to many famous attractions including; Glacier National Park, Kootenai Falls, Ross Creek Cedars, Quinn's Hot Springs, National Bison Range, Vermillion Falls, Graves Creek Falls, Gem Peak Lookout, Sex Peak Lookout, Flathead Lake, and Wildhorse Island.

FLY FISHING

One of the primary reasons we chose Trout Creek is its proximity to WORLD-CLASS fly fishing destinations, enough for a lifetime of fishing adventure. Whether you prefer small stream fishing for feisty cutthroats or larger rivers for the trout or pike of a lifetime, this area has it all. Famous nearby fishing destinations include;

- Clark Fork River

- Kootenai River

- Flathead River

- Rock Creek

- Bitterroot River

- Teepee Creek

- Coeur D'Alene River

- Noxon Rapids Reservoir

- Lake Pend Oreille

HUNTING

Montana has long been known for its hunting and the Trout Creek area is no exception. The area surrounding the cabin is popular for big game (elk, moose, deer, bear, wolf, mountain lion) as well as excellent bird hunting for turkey, grouse, duck, and geese.

MOUNTAIN BIKING

In addition to Fly Fishing, we are avid cyclists. Just outside the steps of the cabin are nearly limitless forest service roads and trails ideally suited for the cycling enthusiast. If you are feeling really adventurous, try your hand with your fat bike in the winter.

SNOW and WATERSPORTS

Whether you prefer the wet or white kind, the Clark Fork valley is the place for snow and water sports. Boasting 3 huge reservoirs nearby (Thompson, Noxon, Cabinet Gorge), the opportunities for boating, water skiing, kayaking, and canoeing are endless. During the winter, enjoy alpine and nordic skiing, snow shoeing, ice fishing, and snowmobiling either out the back door or nearby.
